Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

Mythtaken ("the app", "we", "us") is a social party game developed by Gamejester. We built it to be private by default. This policy explains exactly what the app does and doesn't do with information.

The short version: we don't ask you to sign in, we don't collect anything that identifies you, we show no ads, and we use no third-party trackers. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymous votes cast during a game, which we use to show "what everyone guessed".

Information that stays on your device

The player names you type, which cards you've played, your review of the cards and your purchase status are stored only on your device (in local app storage). They are never transmitted to us, and they are removed if you delete the app.

Anonymous gameplay data we receive

When a card's answer is revealed, the app sends the votes that were cast for that card (which of the five options was chosen) and whether a card was played or skipped. This is used to build the aggregate "what everyone guessed" breakdown and the "your table vs the world" comparison, and to understand which cards land well.

This data is anonymous. It contains no name, no email, no account, no device identifier and no advertising ID. It cannot be used to identify you, and it is stored only as aggregate counts per card.

What we do NOT collect

Purchases

The optional one-time "full pack" unlock is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or store your payment details — we only keep a local flag on your device that records the unlock so you don't pay twice.

Where the data lives

The anonymous vote tallies are stored on our infrastructure provided by Cloudflare. Card content and artwork are served from the same infrastructure. No personal data is involved.

Children

Mythtaken is intended for a general teen-and-up audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
